Braulio starts out getting the submission in 45 seconds over Janne-Pekka.

Marcelinho is on the mat against Bruno Bastos. Marcelinho finds his pace in overtime, scoring a sweep, passes, taking the back and sinking a choke.

We also have Vinicius Magalhães and Dean Lister in action, against each other. Vini gets the better by referee decision.

Chris Weidman is now against Antoine Jaoude. Both wrestlers are standing. And keep on it for the first period. Weidman takes Jaoude’s back (3-0). Jaoude escapes and takes the t-shirt off. Time ends, better for Weidman.

Xande Ribeiro faces a skinny Ricco Rodriguez. Xande plays from the guard, goes for the back standing, tries to take the back on the ground and ends up on top. He then taps Rodriguez with a kimura, from the half-guard.

Tom DeBlass and Andre Galvao do battle. Galvão sweeps. DeBlass goes for the heel hook. Galvão escapes and sits, playing guard. Tom insists on heel hooks attempts, André Galvão handles it and takes DeBlass’ back and wins.

Jeff Monson is against Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson. Gunnar defends guard and attacks Monson’s back nicely towards the end of the first period. Monson scrambles and escapes. Monson goes for the single leg, Gunnar counters with another back attempt, they come out of the area. Overtime. Gunnar keeps pushing Monson, despite the huge weight difference. Monson is in a back attempt, but Nelson frees himself. Gunnar takes the back, scores (3-0) and taps Monson with a kimura.

Over 99kg finalist Roberto Cyborg is taking on David Avellan in the last fight of the absolute first phase. Cyborg is trailing 0-2 but takes Avellan off balance and scores 3 points when get his back. 3-2 and now Avellan is trying to pass. Cyborg is punished with -1 and now it is even (3-3). Overtime. Cyborg takes Avellan down but no points yet. They scramble and are on their feet again.  David Avellan gets the decision.
