Braulio Estima and Marcelo Garcia battle for a place in the semifinal. Estima pulls guard. After quite a while, Braulio sweeps. And passes. Marcelinho scrambles, Braulio goes for a back attempt and mounts. Braulio takes the back and taps Garcia.
On their feet, Vinicius Magalhaes and Chris Weidman. As quick as a bolt, Vini snags the armbar and is in the semis against Braulio.
In the third match, Xande goes against Galvão. Xande starts better, taking Galvao down, but no points are been counted yet. Now Xande plays guard. Sweeps. They both stand with Xande attempting to take Galvao’s back. Xande is leading 3-0 and they are towed to the middle. Time ends and Xande wins.
In the last match of the quarters, Gunnar Nelson faces David Avellan. It takes a while, but Gunnar manages the takedown and ends up in Avellan’s half guard. Avellan nearly sweep but Nelson scrambles, gets t0 his feet and takes Avellan down. Back in half guard. Avellan goes for the sweep but didn’t manage to finish it. They are trading takedowns, with an apparent advantage for Gunnar. Nelson takes Avellan down, takes the back and taps Avellan.
